They Don't Play Ukulele
In Hawai'i Anymore
©1993 Dan Scanlan
They don't play ukulele in Hawai'i anymore
They like to play those baby guitars with six strings not just four
They like to fret on a short wide neck and pluck those fat bass strings
But the uke's a lot of treble, that's what makes it sing.
So if you hear any bass when I play my ukulele
You're making it up in your head, 'cause it's not coming from me.
No I tune my little uke My Dog Has Fleas
And when I play the scale there is no Middle C. See?
Can't tell if I'm serious? If you've got the time, the patience and
the inclination toward self-damage, have a listen!
