Scanlan is a nationally recognized ukulele player who has been featured at the Ukulele Hall of Fame Museum in Rhode island, the International Ukulele Festival in Honolulu and the World's Fair in Lisbon.
"One of the finest venues I've played," Scanlan says, "was 100 feet up Luna, Julia Butterfly's tree, to an audience of two." Scanlan will also play the two forerunners of the ukulele, the braguinha and rajao, both from Madeira Island, Portugal, and on a few of the "progeny" of the ukulele - the banjo-uke, tiple and taro-patch fiddle. Scanlan writes many of the songs Jukolin performs. Many of his songs can be found here.
